About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of customized industrial automation and special-purpose machinery from concept through commissioning.
- Translate customer requirements into clear project scopes, objectives, and actionable deliverables.
- Develop and maintain integrated project schedules, critical path milestones, and resource allocation plans.
- Direct and synchronize multidisciplinary international engineering teams across mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines.
- Serve as the primary interface for customers, managing expectations, scope modifications, and technical escalations.
- Own project financial performance, including budget management, margin targets, and risk mitigation.
- Lead on-site installation, commissioning, and final acceptance activities at customer facilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or a related field).
- Minimum of 5 years of proven project management experience within industrial automation or special-purpose machinery sectors.
- Hands-on experience with complex automated systems (robotics, vision, PLC controls, and mechanical integration).
- Business-level proficiency in English.
- Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally based on project needs.
- Proficiency with modern project management tools such as MS Project.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP or similar project management certification.
- Experience leading international, cross-functional project teams.
- Experience using SAP or other ERP systems for project controlling.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma, 8D, or other structured problem-solving methods.
- Fluency in additional languages such as German or Spanish.
