About the role
About the Company
Near Space Labs designs, builds, and operates a fleet of stratospheric robots to image the Earth. They launch proprietary, balloon-based imaging robots to heights between 40,000 and 60,000 feet to capture petabytes of imagery for various use cases.
Responsibilities
- Create and co-own project plans and schedules for new features from inception to deployment
- Coordinate and trade-off inputs and needs across different departments for feature releases
- Coordinate project gates such as acceptance reviews
- Communicate feature request and release status with Flight Operations
- Evolve and streamline hardware development and manufacturing processes in an aerospace environment
- Enhance tooling for development processes, configuration management, and traceability
- Lead cross-functional projects with data engineering, flight operations, and product teams
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional experience, with 2+ years in a similar role
- Experience in project management within engineering environments involving real-life tradeoffs
- Hands-on experience with design, manufacturing, or test processes in Robotics, Aeronautics, Drones, Auto, IoT, or similar hardware/embedded software fields
- Engineering degree in aerospace, industrial, mechanical, production, electronics, or a related field
- Mission-oriented and able to accomplish goals autonomously
- Willingness to take on various roles as the company expands
