Technical Product Manager

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain detailed product requirements documents (PRDs) covering hardware, electrical, and mechanical configurations
• Define requirements across energy and power dimensions including efficiency and thermal envelopes
• Translate market and regulatory input into engineering requirements and acceptance criteria
• Track and maintain certification and compliance roadmap (UL 9540, IEC 62933, etc.)
• Define inverter compatibility matrix and drive qualification processes
• Shape EMS offering strategy and integration requirements
• Contribute to competitive analysis of BESS products and long-term service agreement strategy

Requirements

• 2–8 years of experience in product management, technical program management, or product development
• Technical degree in engineering or a related field
• Strong written communication skills for PRDs and strategy memos
• Ability to drive decisions with incomplete information and handle ambiguity
• Structured and analytical thinking approach

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience developing requirements for hardware product lines
• Experience in energy storage, grid-scale renewables, or power electronics
• Experience with BESS procurement, project development, or system integration
• Familiarity with grid interconnection, utility tariffs, or wholesale energy markets (ERCOT, CAISO, PJM)
• Exposure to electrical energy storage certification processes
• Experience with inverter manufacturers or EMS vendors
• Background in a startup or high-growth hardware company
