About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical and project management for Ports, Marine, and Civil Structures projects.
  • Prepare project scope of works, briefs, consultancy fee estimates, and delivery plans.
  • Manage project financial systems, including invoicing, reporting, and achieving planned profit.
  • Proactively engage with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure project delivery within budget and quality standards.
  • Undertake technical reviews and verification activities to ensure technical excellence.
  • Set high standards for the technical team by promoting best practices and a solution-focused mindset.
  • Assist with the ongoing growth and strategic development of the Port and Marine business.
  • Ensure all activities comply with approved safety plans and health and safety management protocols.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Ports and Maritime Engineering (minimum BE Civil).
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in civil engineering, specifically within ports and maritime engineering.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or equivalent.
  • Membership of EngNZ, ICE, or currently working towards attaining such status.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software, specifically LUSAS or Microstran.
  • Proven experience leading marine and port-related engineering projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within the New Zealand market.
