About the role
Responsibilities
- Act as the Duty Holder and Subject Matter Expert for high-severity risks related to electrical, infrastructure machinery, and construction safety.
- Maintain and improve site infrastructure, offices, laboratories, and pilot plant operations through engineering expertise.
- Oversee engineering service partners to ensure compliance with GMP, environmental, and process safety requirements.
- Support engineering-related capital projects and ensure alignment with site infrastructure strategy.
- Manage the Permit to Work process to ensure safe systems of work for high-risk construction and demolition activities.
- Integrate facilities engineering support into production schedules to maximize facility up-time.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying cost, energy, and efficiency opportunities through GEMBA walkthroughs.
- Monitor site infrastructure life cycle asset management and contribute to capital plan development.
- Support investigations and root cause analysis for engineering-related failures in collaboration with EHS and Quality teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Technical, Science-related, or Operations.
- 7+ years of experience managing complex facilities support services for large office or pharmaceutical facilities.
- Proven experience working within GxP environments.
- Strong knowledge of Research & Development (R&D) processes and GxP requirements.
- Thorough understanding of statutory legislation responsibilities in a technically complex environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of professional experience.
- Proven ability to act as a role model for applying standards to ensure compliance.
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
- Experience establishing strong working relationships with external contract partners to deliver site services.
