About the role
Responsibilities
- Support the operation, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of high-frequency ocean radar systems (WERA and CODAR SeaSonde).
- Perform hands-on field work, including systematic fault-finding and preventative maintenance to ensure reliable data delivery.
- Collaborate with researchers, site caretakers, contractors, and suppliers to support a distributed marine observing network.
- Manage technical documentation and reporting related to system performance and maintenance activities.
Requirements
- Practical experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electronic, RF, telecommunications, or field-based technical systems.
- Proficiency in using test equipment relevant to electronic or RF systems.
- Possession of a valid "C" class driver's licence.
- Ability to undertake frequent domestic travel within Australia and international travel (USA and Germany) for training.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaborative teamwork.
