Technical Officer - Anatomy and Pathology

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day operation of anatomy and pathology teaching laboratories, including setup and pack-down of practical classes
• Assist with specimen preparation, including embalming, preservation, and handling of cadaveric materials
• Maintain laboratory spaces, preparation areas, and equipment in a clean, safe, and functional condition
• Ensure all activities involving human cadaveric material are conducted with dignity, respect, and in compliance with regulatory requirements
• Provide technical and administrative support for body donation activities, managing enquiries with a compassionate and ethical approach
• Maintain stock levels, procure consumables, and coordinate equipment maintenance
• Ensure compliance with health and safety, biohazard, and University policies at all times

Requirements

• Certificate or Diploma in a related discipline or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated experience working with cadaveric material
• Sound knowledge of human anatomy
• Experience in laboratory operations and preparation of teaching materials
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using IT systems or databases
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-focused approach
