Technical Officer - Anatomy and Pathology

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operations of anatomy and pathology teaching laboratories, including setup and pack-down of practical classes
• Assist with specimen preparation, including embalming and preservation activities
• Maintain laboratory spaces, equipment, and preparation areas in a clean, safe, and functional condition
• Ensure all activities involving human cadaveric material are conducted with respect, dignity, and in accordance with regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with academic staff to support teaching delivery and improve laboratory resources
• Manage stock levels, procure consumables, and oversee equipment maintenance
• Provide guidance to staff and students on the appropriate handling of anatomy specimens and laboratory equipment
• Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, biohazard, and University policies

Requirements

• Certificate or Diploma in a related discipline or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated experience working with cadaveric material
• Sound knowledge of human anatomy
• Experience in laboratory operations and preparation of teaching materials
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general IT systems
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-focused approach
