Technical Manager

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance, project management, and client support within a laboratory setting
• Maintain and repair laboratory instrumentation including GC, GCMS, detectors (TCD, SCD, FID), and thermal desorbers
• Develop and maintain methodologies for environmental analytical applications (EPA, TO compendium, ASTM)
• Train and develop bench-level analysts in technical theory and instrument troubleshooting
• Act as the primary interface with instrumentation and consumables vendors
• Consult with technical sales staff and clients regarding methods and special projects
• Perform peer reviews of analytical data and evaluate new technologies to improve laboratory efficiency

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a Scientific field
• Proven experience with TO-15 methodologies
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent organizational abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• 10+ years of technical experience or 5+ years of laboratory experience
• Experience with EPA VOC methods for air (TO-15, TO-17) or soil/water (8260)
• Background in Volatiles analysis
• Previous management experience
