About the role

Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate total cost optimization opportunities across materials, components, and processes.
  • Perform structured should-cost, clean-sheet, and teardown analyses to support category strategies.
  • Lead cross-functional technical teams through the planning and execution of value engineering projects.
  • Manage technical change execution, including specification updates and material substitutions.
  • Coordinate sample builds, trials, and testing to ensure product performance and regulatory compliance.
  • Partner with Procurement, R&D, Quality, and Operations to drive margin improvement and supply resilience.
  • Track initiatives end-to-end, from business case development to final handover of savings to operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Materials, Plastics, Chemicals, Packaging, or Manufacturing engineering.
  • 5-8+ years of professional experience in a relevant engineering field.
  • Proven track record of delivering multi-million dollar value engineering savings.
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects end-to-end using structured project management methods.
  • Working knowledge of GMP, change control, deviation/CAPA concepts, and validation/qualification principles.
  • Must not be allergic to Penicillin or Cephalosporin drugs.
  • Ability to travel 10-20%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in alternate sourcing and supplier qualification (APQP/PPAP) within regulated manufacturing.
  • Experience with cost modeling, should-costing, or clean-sheet methodologies.
  • Expertise in value engineering and design for manufacturability (DFM).
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification.
  • Experience managing insourcing transitions and technology transfer activities.
