About the role

Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate total cost optimization opportunities across materials, components, and processes, focusing on insourcing and alternate sourcing.
  • Perform structured should-cost, clean-sheet, and teardown analyses to support category strategies.
  • Lead cross-functional technical teams through the planning and execution of projects, including specification and material substitution.
  • Coordinate sample builds, trials, and testing while supporting change control and validation processes.
  • Partner with Procurement, R&D, Quality, and Operations to ensure supply resilience and margin improvement.
  • Track initiatives end-to-end from opportunity assessment through to full execution and savings handover.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Materials, Plastics, Chemicals, Packaging, or Manufacturing engineering (or a related field).
  • 5-8+ years of professional experience.
  • Proven track record of delivering multi-million dollar value engineering savings.
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects end-to-end using structured project management methods.
  • Working knowledge of GMP, change control, deviation/CAPA concepts, and validation/qualification principles.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional influence skills.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in alternate sourcing and supplier qualification (APQP/PPAP) within regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with insourcing transitions, tech transfer activities, and design for manufacturability.
  • Proficiency in cost modeling, should-costing, or clean-sheet methodologies.
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification.
