Technical Lead (Roads)

Responsibilities

• Lead the roads shop drawing team, distributing work to engineers, draftsmen, and Civil 3D modellers.
• Prepare, draft, and correct road shop drawings for urgent submissions, complex grading, or critical details.
• Review and approve internal road shop drawings, including layouts, profiles, cross sections, and pavement drawings.
• Verify Civil 3D outputs such as alignments, surfaces, corridors, and quantity data.
• Coordinate road drawings with utilities (stormwater, sewerage, electrical, etc.), structures, and traffic diversions.
• Identify design gaps, constructability risks, and utility clashes before submission.
• Manage the road drawing submission programme and maintain trackers, RFI logs, and approval records.
• Mentor and train junior engineers and draftsmen on technical quality and CAD standards.
• Review consultant comments and ensure proper closure in revised drawings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 9 to 15 years of experience in road shop drawings, road design coordination, or infrastructure technical office work.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a senior review or team lead role.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory).
• Advanced proficiency in Civil 3D (mandatory).
• Proficiency in MS Excel for tracking and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with UAE or GCC infrastructure projects.
• Expertise in roads, highways, junctions, grading, and traffic diversion interfaces.
• Experience with Navisworks or other clash review software.
