Technical Lead Engineer, UAV Development

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-disciplinary engineering integration across mechanical structures, electrical distribution, thermal management, avionics and flight software
• Establish Interface Control Documents and maintain requirements traceability
• Define and lead verification and validation strategies from simulation to flight-test
• Lead technical risk assessments including DFMEA and Functional Hazard Assessments
• Chair critical design reviews including PDR and CDR
• Act as the primary technical interface for critical suppliers and manufacturing partners

Requirements

• Experience leading multi-disciplinary hardware and software integration in aerospace, robotics, or UAV development
• Strong background in mechanical engineering with expertise in electrical, thermal, and flight software domains
• Proficiency with system-level requirements tools such as Jama or DOORS
• Familiarity with V-model development and systems engineering methodologies
• Knowledge of aviation standards such as DO-160, ARP4754, or drone regulatory frameworks
• Ability to act decisively with minimal guidance and own outcomes end-to-end

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on CAD and PLM experience using SolidWorks, Siemens NX, or Teamcenter
• Familiarity with ECAD and MCAD collaboration workflows
• Experience with dual-use or export-controlled UAV programmes
