About the role

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the strategy, pursuit, management, and delivery of major ecology projects in Western Australia.
  • Drive business growth by developing new client relationships and portfolios within the mining, resources, and government sectors.
  • Foster technical excellence and support the implementation of technical training programs.
  • Lead strategic technical hiring and workforce planning to build team depth and resilience.
  • Manage team operations, including resourcing, performance management, and financial oversight.
  • Role model a zero-harm HSE culture, ensuring all safety and environmental obligations are met.
  • Partner with sector leads to deliver market strategies that enhance client outcomes.

Requirements

  • Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related discipline (postgraduate qualifications are highly regarded).
  • 15–20+ years of experience in ecology with a strong track record of technical delivery in complex environments.
  • Proven experience in business strategy, market growth, and attracting/retaining technical talent.
  • Strong commercial and operational acumen, including experience with financial oversight and workforce planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing technical teams.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships.
