About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee the strategy, pursuit, management, and delivery of major ecology projects in Western Australia.
- Drive business growth by developing new client relationships and portfolios within the mining, resources, and government sectors.
- Foster technical excellence and support the implementation of technical training programs.
- Lead strategic technical hiring and workforce planning to build team depth and resilience.
- Manage team operations, including resourcing, performance management, and financial oversight.
- Role model a zero-harm HSE culture, ensuring all safety and environmental obligations are met.
- Partner with sector leads to deliver market strategies that enhance client outcomes.
Requirements
- Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related discipline (postgraduate qualifications are highly regarded).
- 15–20+ years of experience in ecology with a strong track record of technical delivery in complex environments.
- Proven experience in business strategy, market growth, and attracting/retaining technical talent.
- Strong commercial and operational acumen, including experience with financial oversight and workforce planning.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing technical teams.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships.
