Technical Director – Civil/Structural Engineering

Responsibilities

• Lead projects ranging from smaller expert commissions to large, complex and multi-disciplinary matters
• Review documents and drawings
• Carry out independent research in technical literature
• Undertake calculations, modelling and analysis
• Author technical reports
• Work with colleagues in the Civil and Structural Engineering team to provide expert industry knowledge
• Communicate in an advisory capacity to legal teams and clients on engineering issues
• Contribute to business development initiatives and client relationship expansion

Requirements

• MSc or MEng in Structural and/or Civil Engineering or other relevant field recognized by the Engineering Council UK
• Chartered status with Engineering Council and membership in ICE or IStructE
• At least fifteen years of extensive experience in structural and/or civil engineering
• Knowledge of technical standards, industry software, and British and European codes of practice
• Excellent attention to detail and proactive problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience working on technical disputes or in forensic investigations
• Experience with international large-scale projects is a plus
• Appetite to support identifying, developing, and securing consultancy fee-earning work
