Technical Director, Civil

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and production of the Civil Design Team, overseeing technical delivery and quality assurance.
• Plan and coordinate engineering and BIM resources across multiple projects.
• Manage the quality checking of designs, drawings, and technical deliverables.
• Provide input for man-hour estimates, cost tracking, and proposal development.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and Australian counterparts.
• Monitor project utilization against team targets and contribute to strategic regional planning.
• Mentor staff and participate in performance appraisals and professional development.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, legislation, and project specifications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or an equivalent field.
• Professional Chartership or registration within the relevant jurisdiction.
• 15+ years of professional experience in civil engineering.
• Extensive experience applying Australian Codes and international standards.
• Proven track record of managing and leading large teams to deliver business outcomes.
• Advanced proficiency in Digital Engineering, BIM, and inter-disciplinary coordination.
• Skilled in using MS365 and AI tools to drive project efficiencies.
• Strong ability to manage complex project scopes, risks, and client relationships.
