Technical Designer

Responsibilities

• Drive the execution of fit and construction standards for the Men's division from prototyping through production
• Measure samples from Proto-Type stage through PP and prepare for fittings
• Check construction and quality to ensure samples meet category and fabrication standards
• Communicate fit and balance issues via pattern diagrams or directly on patterns
• Lead fit sessions on live models and dress forms
• Execute fit comments in a timely manner to maintain production timelines
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure wash, fabric quality, and fit intent are achieved
• Maintain professional correspondence with domestic and overseas vendors
• Identify potential product, quality, and costing issues and provide recommendations

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in the apparel industry as a Technical Designer
• Strong understanding of garment measuring, construction, and quality control/assurance
• Proficiency in pattern making, grading, and technical drawing
• Experience leading live fittings and making accurate fit corrections
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
• Ability to prepare and write product specification sheets
• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
