Responsibilities

  • Measure samples from prototype through post-production and prepare for fittings
  • Check construction and quality to ensure proper garment category and fabrication
  • Communicate fit and balance issues via pattern diagrams or directly on patterns
  • Execute fit comments in a timely manner to maintain production timelines
  • Lead fit sessions on live models and dress forms
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure wash, fabric quality, and fit intent
  • Maintain professional email correspondence with domestic and overseas vendors
  • Identify potential product, quality, and costing issues and make recommendations
  • Track and manage workflow for assigned products

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the apparel industry as a Technical Designer
  • Strong understanding of garment measuring, construction, and quality control
  • Proficiency in fit, pattern making, grading, and technical drawing
  • Experience in grading for Women’s, Plus, and Men’s categories
  • Ability to lead live fittings and make accurate fit corrections
  • Knowledge of preparing and writing product specification sheets
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain quality standards

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the junior market and product categories carried by Fashion Nova
  • Additional language skills are an advantage
