Technical Designer

Responsibilities

• Measure samples from prototype through post-production and prepare them for fittings
• Check garment construction and quality to ensure standards are met for specific categories and fabrications
• Communicate fit and balance issues via pattern diagrams or directly on patterns
• Execute fit comments in a timely manner to maintain production and action timelines
• Lead fit sessions on live models and dress forms
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy in wash, fabric quality, and fit intent
• Maintain professional email correspondence with domestic and overseas vendors
• Identify potential product, quality, and costing issues and provide recommendations
• Track and manage individual product workflows and workloads

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in the apparel industry as a Technical Designer
• Strong understanding of garment measuring, construction, and quality control/assurance
• Proficiency in pattern making, grading, and technical drawing
• Experience in leading live fittings and making accurate fit corrections
• Ability to prepare and write detailed product specification sheets
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain quality standards in a fast-paced environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
