Technical Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed production drawings, 3D concepts, and construction plans using AutoCAD/SolidWorks
• Perform and review structural analysis and load calculations for custom event structures and rigging
• Design and develop prototypes for custom scenic elements, jigs, and fixtures
• Ensure designs are structurally sound and compliant with Health & Safety standards
• Collaborate with project managers and workshop technicians to optimize workflows and manage costs
• Research and select materials and create Bills of Materials (BOM)
• Maintain accurate engineering records and "as-built" drawings

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in custom fabrication, scenic construction, exhibition design, or event production
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field
• Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks or Inventor and 2D AutoCAD
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator/Photoshop)
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes like sheet metal, CNC machining, and carpentry
• Ability to work in a workshop environment and handle tight deadlines
