Technical Deployment Lead

Responsibilities

• Own the technical delivery plan for multiple interdependent workstreams, translating business objectives into roadmaps with clear milestones and dependencies.
• Drive day-to-day engineering execution by tracking progress across Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) and customer teams.
• Embed with customer teams to map workflows, shape integrations, and lead onboarding and change management to ensure successful adoption.
• Partner with Product and Research teams to ensure platform components and research workstreams align with deployment goals.
• Codify solution patterns and extract reusable field signals to improve OpenAI's products and models.
• Define and track impact hypotheses, KPIs, and ROI to report measurable value to executive sponsors.

Requirements

• 7+ years of customer-facing technical delivery leadership experience.
• Proven track record of leading large, complex, and high-stakes customer engagements.
• Hands-on experience shipping AI/LLM systems, including understanding solution patterns and production pitfalls.
• Strong technical fluency in system architectures and the ability to make real-time trade-offs on scope and priority.
• Ability to travel up to 50% to work onsite with customers.
• Experience operating in high-ambiguity environments with the ability to simplify complex problems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in a major sector such as healthcare, energy, financial services, semiconductors, or IT.
• Ability to move fluidly between high-level strategic thinking and deep technical execution.
• Strong executive presence with the ability to translate complex technical trade-offs for business leaders.
