Technical Data Business Analyst

Responsibilities

• Engage with business and technical stakeholders to gather and document functional and technical requirements
• Analyse legacy data sources and define future-state data requirements
• Produce source-to-target mapping (STTM) documentation and data transformation rules
• Document business processes, data flows, and data lineage
• Work closely with Data Engineers and Architects to support cloud migration activities
• Perform data profiling, data quality analysis, and reconciliation activities
• Support solution design workshops and facilitate requirements sessions
• Assist with test planning, data validation, UAT, and defect management
• Produce high-quality documentation including user stories, process maps, and functional specifications
• Work within Agile delivery teams using Jira and Confluence

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as a Technical Business Analyst on enterprise Data or Cloud transformation programs
• Strong understanding of data migration and modernisation projects
• Experience producing source-to-target mapping (STTM) documentation
• Strong SQL skills for data analysis and validation
• Experience with data modelling concepts and relational databases
• Understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data integration
• Experience working within AWS data environments (S3, Glue, Redshift, RDS) or similar cloud platforms
• Strong stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS data services
• Exposure to Snowflake or modern cloud data platforms
• Knowledge of data governance, metadata, and data quality frameworks
• Experience with API integrations
• Experience in telecommunications or large enterprise environments
