About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance to peasant communities during the recognition process of the Lamay Agrobiodiversity Zone (ZABD)
- Refine and consolidate the technical dossier to address observations made by the INIA (National Institute of Agricultural Innovation)
- Facilitate exchange and socialization spaces with local communities to ensure informed participation and integration of community input
- Review, organize, and validate technical, documentary, and legal information in accordance with current regulatory frameworks (Decreto Supremo N° 020-2016-MINAGRI)
- Develop territorial information for the dossier, including maps, plans, and necessary field work
- Coordinate with relevant institutions and local authorities to ensure the continuity of the recognition process
Requirements
- University degree in Agronomy, Biology, Environmental Sciences, or a related field
- Postgraduate studies in Ecology, Biodiversity, Agrobiodiversity, or Genetic Resources
- Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in biodiversity or agrobiodiversity management
- Proven experience working directly with peasant communities or local organizations
- Strong knowledge of the regulatory framework applicable to Agrobiodiversity Zones (ZABD)
- Proficiency in territorial analysis and the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) tools
- Native Spanish speaker with basic English skills (desirable)
