About the role

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop deep relationships with standout student leaders at leading global campuses.
  • Support campus leaders in planning semester strategies, recruiting members, and building sustainable engagement.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between OpenAI and frontier campus chapters.
  • Partner with chapter leaders to design and execute exceptional events, workshops, and campus activations.
  • Design and refine engagement formats to help students build with OpenAI tools.
  • Capture insights and best practices from campuses to help translate them into global resources.
  • Surface exceptional students, projects, and community initiatives to relevant internal teams.
  • Gather community feedback to inform product, education, and community strategy.

Requirements

  • Deep knowledge of AI tools, including ChatGPT and APIs, with the ability to help students build, debug, and prototype.
  • Hands-on experience building, prototyping, or shipping projects using AI tools, APIs, or coding assistants.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with ambitious technical talent.
  • Strong project and program management skills with experience coordinating multi-stakeholder initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently and navigate ambiguity.
  • Strong pulse on AI-native builder culture and technical developer workflows.
  • Experience designing and executing community programs, events, or ambassador initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with university students, research communities, or developer ecosystems.
  • Experience running hackathons, conferences, or other community-driven events.
  • Experience creating community content, such as newsletters, guides, or playbooks.
  • Existing relationships within leading universities or entrepreneurial ecosystems.
