Technical Associate

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care and feeding for cats, dogs, and rodents in a research environment
• Clean and disinfect animal areas and support cagewash operations
• Assist with all aspects of study execution, including biological sample collection and data collection
• Perform animal husbandry, treatments, and record keeping in accordance with SOPs and regulatory requirements
• Maintain laboratory equipment and instruments following departmental policies
• Support clinical veterinarians with various aspects of veterinary care
• Communicate effectively with lead technicians, managers, and researchers

Requirements

• High school diploma
• Demonstrated math and reading comprehension skills
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays on a rotational basis
• Ability to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and maintain high levels of personal hygiene
• Proven ability to work well in a team and in a fast-paced setting

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-3 years of related experience or combined education
• AALAS Certification
• Previous experience in an in vivo research setting
