Technical Artist, Environment

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain workflows for modular kit assembly, level streaming, LOD generation, and asset optimization
• Build Editor Utility Widgets, Blueprints, and Python scripts to improve world-building efficiency
• Author and manage world-building shaders, including terrain blending and procedural surface layering
• Set and enforce technical budgets for polycount, draw calls, and texture memory
• Collaborate with level designers to ensure geometry meets collision and performance requirements
• Integrate Unreal’s Procedural Content Generation (PCG) framework into production pipelines
• Profile and debug environment performance using Unreal Insights and RenderDoc
• Review work and deliver technical feedback and documentation

Requirements

• 3-5 years of professional experience as a Technical Artist in games or interactive media
• Experience working on and shipping AAA games
• Deep knowledge of Unreal Engine 5 (World Partition, Nanite, Lumen, PCG)
• Strong Python and Blueprint scripting skills
• Experience with terrain and landscape systems at scale
• Experience in Houdini for procedural asset and scatter tooling
• Understanding of PBR workflows, texture compression, and LOD pipelines
• Ability to communicate GPU performance data clearly

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of MEL or MaxScript
