About the role
Responsibilities
- Own the technical architecture for the Release on Demand (RoD) platform, defining service boundaries, data models, and deployment patterns.
- Drive platform scalability and reliability by designing for high availability and zero-downtime deployments.
- Establish a comprehensive observability framework, including distributed tracing, structured logging, metrics, and alerting.
- Design and champion a robust end-to-end testing strategy, from contract testing to full integration suites.
- Lead the evolution of the platform's event-driven backbone using resilient, decoupled event flows.
- Shape the technical roadmap in collaboration with product owners to translate business requirements into architectural decisions.
- Mentor engineers and conduct thoughtful architectural reviews to improve team technical excellence.
Requirements
- Proven track record as a hands-on Technical Architect or Principal Engineer on high-traffic, production-grade platforms.
- Deep expertise in microservices, event-driven systems, and distributed systems design.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and message queuing systems.
- Strong server-side engineering skills with proficiency in Kotlin and designing RESTful APIs.
- Proficiency with relational or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Couchbase.
- Demonstrated SRE or platform engineering experience, including managing SLOs and incident management at scale.
- Experience implementing observability strategies (tracing, logging, metrics).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SDLC tooling, release management platforms, or CI/CD pipeline architecture.
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of automated governance, compliance-as-code, or policy-as-code approaches.
- Experience with CI/CD tools like Tekton or Harness.
- Exposure to Artificial Intelligence and GenAI tooling in a development context.
