Technical Architect - Business Applications

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee the technical strategy for Roku’s platform to support diverse business applications.
• Drive the AI-native transformation of Roku's advertising business by identifying high-leverage opportunities in architecture and system design.
• Design and ship production-grade ML and agentic systems, including recommendation, ranking, forecasting, and multi-agent workflows.
• Apply GenAI and LLMs to build and scale Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, prompt orchestration, and evaluation frameworks.
• Translate ambiguous business problems into production solutions by partnering with engineers, data scientists, and product managers.
• Build and operationalize evaluation loops, including drift detection and human-in-the-loop systems, to tie model performance to business outcomes.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, raising the bar for engineering rigor across the organization.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of hands-on engineering experience with a track record of delivering large-scale autonomous or assistant systems.
• Strong foundation in machine learning and statistical modeling (clustering, classification, regression, neural networks, etc.).
• Proven experience building and scaling production ML/AI systems, including LLMs, RAG architectures, and multi-agent design.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), microservices, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Demonstrated technical leadership and ability to influence cross-functional teams.
