Technical Applications Scientist

Responsibilities

• Provide frontline customer support for applications and informatics related customer inquiries and issues
• Triage customer complaints to delineate applications, software, or hardware issues
• Support management of customer escalations requiring internal R&D and Operations support
• Review instrument run logs and query databases to troubleshoot issues
• Provide customer feedback to internal teams to drive design change recommendations
• Identify root causes for issues and propose recommendations to drive customer success
• Develop support strategies, service manuals, and procedures for new products
• Develop and validate applications and informatics troubleshooting documentation
• Partner with Software Development and Applications teams to provide technical solutions to analysis workflows

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in molecular biology, genetics, bioinformatics, or a related field
• Minimum 1 year of experience in customer support or the biotech industry
• Experience parsing large instrument logs to identify patterns
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong technical writing abilities
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
• Flexibility to work non-regular business hours for customer support

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree
• Familiarity with Multi-omics workflows
• Experience with instrumentation involving optics, microfluidics, and electromechanical systems
