Technical Application Specialist

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate technical information and assistance regarding products and services to maintain strong customer relationships.
• Deliver comprehensive customer operator training both at Abbott facilities and on-site.
• Manage new instrument and assay implementations through to Test-of-Record.
• Perform on-site assay investigations and troubleshooting related to instruments, software, reagents, and experimental design.
• Prepare technical documents and reports for implementations, training sessions, and investigations.
• Lead technical discussions to analyze customer needs and propose relevant product solutions.
• Host user meetings, workshops, and seminars to provide product updates.
• Track assay issues and escalation cases, working closely with global teams to resolve problems.
• Optimize workflows and collaborate with Service teams to identify potential lot issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical), or a related discipline.
• 5-7 years of relevant experience with a proven track record in a diagnostic laboratory.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with experience engaging customers and lab staff.
• Deep technical knowledge of assays and systems to serve as a product line expert.
• Proficiency in using analytical tools and software.
• Highly developed communication skills with the ability to demonstrate empathy and engagement.
• Willingness to work on standby or overtime to resolve urgent issues as they arise.
