Technical API Lead

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical leadership for software engineers focused on API architecture, design, development, and delivery.
• Own the technical design and delivery of a high-quality, comprehensive API and management platform to enable eCommerce features.
• Ensure the extensibility, performance, scalability, security, and operational visibility of the Digital Platform via REST APIs.
• Drive the technical approach for REST APIs, including effort estimation and leading code/design reviews.
• Mentor team members to improve their analytical and technical skills and foster team agility.
• Mediate architectural decisions and ensure the overall soundness of technical designs.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with at least 5 years in a technical lead capacity.
• Proven success leading API enablement for customer-facing retail eCommerce solutions using API gateways such as MuleSoft or Apigee.
• Strong expertise in Java-based REST API development for highly scalable, customer-facing applications.
• Deep experience with JSON, XML, JUnit, Mockito, Maven, and GIT.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience industrializing APIs by implementing security, usage tracking, high availability, and QoS/SLAs.
