Nexus is a converged data platform for the AI era, built on an open-source foundation. The platform provides a unified operational layer across mainframes, data lakes, warehouses, and streaming systems, allowing enterprises to integrate existing stacks with AI agents.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary technical advisor and architect for flagship enterprise accounts
  • Participate in architecture review boards, security reviews, and design discussions
  • Translate customer technical requirements and escalations to the NX1 engineering team
  • Maintain technical context and alignment across engineering, product, and account teams
  • Route technical escalations and support pre-renewal technical conversations
  • Navigate enterprise vendor governance, including risk reviews and audit responses

Requirements

  • 10–16 years in enterprise data or cloud architecture (SA, Principal Engineer, or TAM)
  • Experience in a multi-year embedded engagement at a Tier 1 enterprise customer
  • Hands-on depth with Spark, Trino, Airflow, Iceberg, Kubernetes, S3, or Kafka
  • Proven track record as a trusted technical point of contact for senior architects
  • Strong technical writing skills for design memos and architecture decision records
  • Ability to work on-site at customer locations in Charlotte, NC and NYC at an 80%+ cadence
  • Familiarity with bank IT culture and governance frameworks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background as a Forward Deployed Engineer or Resident SA at major data platform vendors
  • Open-source contributions to Iceberg, Spark, Trino, or Airflow
  • Presence at industry conferences like Subsurface or Data + AI Summit
