Tech Lead, Robotic AI Model

Responsibilities

• Design and execute post-training pipelines for VLA and visuomotor policy models including SFT, RL, and preference-based optimization
• Fine-tune pretrained robot foundation models for dexterous manipulation, locomotion, and multi-step task sequencing
• Build and manage large-scale robot demonstration data pipelines including teleoperation and action tokenization
• Maintain simulation environments like Isaac Sim or MuJoCo for scalable policy training and sim-to-real transfer
• Optimize models for on-robot inference using quantization and latency reduction
• Collaborate with controls, perception, and hardware teams to integrate learned policies into the robot software stack

Requirements

• Master’s or PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in robot learning, imitation learning, or visuomotor policy training
• Deep expertise in SFT, RL-based policy optimization, or diffusion/flow-matching policy training
• Strong PyTorch skills and experience with distributed training (FSDP, DeepSpeed)
• Practical experience with robot simulation platforms (Isaac Sim, MuJoCo, PyBullet, or SAPIEN)
• Solid Python engineering skills and familiarity with ROS/ROS2

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience fine-tuning VLA models such as π₀, OpenVLA, RT-2, or Octo
• Hands-on experience with real robot platforms like humanoids or bi-manual arms
• Familiarity with RLHF/DPO/GRPO applied to robotic policy alignment
• Publications at top robotics or ML venues (CoRL, RSS, ICRA, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR)
• Knowledge of on-device model optimization like TensorRT or ONNX Runtime
