Tech Lead Manager, Foundations

Responsibilities

• Lead the Foundations roadmap in partnership with the CTO and product leadership
• Hire and develop a team of 4 to 8 engineers, including performance calibration and setting expectations
• Drive technical decisions on authorization models, identity provider integrations, billing logic, and audit systems
• Ship code personally on high-leverage parts of the system
• Act as the engineering point of contact for enterprise customers regarding SSO, SCIM, or provisioning
• Represent Foundations in cross-functional conversations with sales, customer success, and finance

Requirements

• 7+ years of backend engineering experience
• 2+ years of experience managing or tech-leading a team
• Deep hands-on experience with identity and auth systems (SAML, OIDC, SCIM)
• Strong Postgres skills including indexing, query plans, and multi-tenant data models
• Experience with billing and metering systems
• Experience hiring senior ICs and providing direct feedback
• Ability to contribute as an individual contributor while managing a team
• Background in B2B SaaS selling to enterprise customers
• Experience designing audit and activity log systems for enterprise compliance (SOC 2, ISO 27001)

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with WorkOS or similar identity platforms
• Experience scaling a foundations or platform team from a small group to 10+ engineers
