Tech Lead - Data Scientist

Responsibilities

• Drive the development of Obsidian's core ontology for unified security config analysis, AI security, and threat detection
• Scale the ontology as part of a team of 3-6 software engineers and data scientists
• Automate repeatable R&D subtasks
• Formulate security problems as data and ML problems in collaboration with enterprise security teams
• Become an expert in identity, authentication, authorization, network, and data security concepts

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or applied research
• 2+ years in a technical leadership role
• Track record of shipping production ML or data systems at scale
• Experience with ontologies, knowledge graphs, entity resolution, or semantics
• Expert-level proficiency in Python and modern ML/data tooling
• Ability to decompose ambiguous problems into well-scoped subproblems with statistical rigor
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
