Teamlead Engineering – Supply Tech

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of core backend applications and define a scalable, performant architectural "north star"
• Guide the team through complex technical challenges, such as rewriting large-scale custom middleware using incremental steps
• Partner with the Product Lead to balance mission-critical business features with technical goals and debt reduction
• Mentor and coach Backend Engineers to simplify system complexity and advance their professional careers
• Lead the hiring and onboarding of engineering talent specialized in legacy-to-modern transitions
• Serve as the primary technical contact for the unit, ensuring alignment on API schemas and integration contracts
• Research and propose modern technologies in message queuing, data normalization, and observability

Requirements

• Proven track record of executing "Strangler Fig" migrations or similar legacy-to-modern architectural shifts
• Deep experience with high-volume data pipelines, normalization, and message queues (e.g., SQS, RabbitMQ)
• Strong experience in system observability, including logging, tracing, and monitoring
• Ability to manage complex project timelines and backlogs in a fast-paced e-commerce environment
• Passion for people management, mentoring, and fostering a high-performing engineering culture
• Experience dismantling over-engineered custom frameworks in favor of maintainable industry standards
