Teamlead Engineering – Supply Tech

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of core backend applications and define a scalable, performant architectural "north star"
• Guide the team through complex technical challenges, including rewriting large-scale custom middleware using incremental steps
• Partner with the Product Lead to balance mission-critical business features with technical debt reduction and modernization
• Mentor and coach Backend Engineers to simplify system complexity and advance their professional careers
• Lead the hiring and onboarding of engineering talent to support legacy-to-modern transitions
• Serve as the primary technical contact for the unit, ensuring alignment on shared architecture, API schemas, and integration contracts
• Research and propose modern technologies for message queuing, data normalization, and observability

Requirements

• Proven track record of executing "Strangler Fig" migrations or similar legacy-to-modern architectural shifts
• Deep experience with high-volume data pipelines, normalization, and message queues such as SQS or RabbitMQ
• Strong expertise in system observability, including logging, tracing, and monitoring to improve visibility
• Experience dismantling over-engineered custom frameworks in favor of maintainable industry standards
• Ability to manage complex project timelines and backlogs in a fast-paced e-commerce environment
• Passion for people development, mentoring, and fostering a high-performing engineering culture
