Team Manager - Medical Coding

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of 40-60 FTEs in medical coding operations within the US healthcare domain
• Ensure service delivery meets contractual SLAs and maintains high quality standards
• Streamline day-to-day coding processes and implement strategic plans for new technologies and tools
• Manage client interactions, customer engagement, and coordination between internal teams
• Create and maintain daily operational scorecards to track KPIs, volume forecasts, and capacity planning
• Drive improvement projects focused on productivity, quality, and cost-saving measures
• Develop coding practice standards, policies, and training programs to improve team performance
• Monitor team work allocation and provide performance improvement plans where necessary

Requirements

• 13+ years of experience in Medical Coding with a strong interest in technology
• Proven experience managing a large team of 40-60 FTEs
• AAPC or AHIMA coding certification
• Deep expertise in ICD, CPT, HCPCS, and E/M coding across multiple specialties
• Strong ability to interpret complex medical records
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for client and stakeholder management
