Team Leader, Transaction Tax Compliance

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure high-quality work products.
• Manage transaction tax compliance projects, including the preparation and review of Sales and Use Tax returns and notice resolution.
• Drive process improvements and efficiency efforts to streamline compliance workflows and enhance accuracy.
• Maintain regular communication with US stakeholders regarding project deliverables, KPIs, and client transitions.
• Oversee workload distribution, capacity planning, and quality assurance to meet strict client service levels and deadlines.
• Reconcile sales tax returns to source data and manage the tracking and logging of tax notices and assessments.

Requirements

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business.
• 6-9 years of relevant experience in tax compliance or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of Sales and Use Tax returns and notice resolution processes.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data manipulation.
• Working knowledge of FilePoint or Vertex software.
• Excellent communication, project management, and people leadership skills.
• Ability to work flexible shifts to accommodate US time zones and meet compliance deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in client interaction and stakeholder management.
• Expertise in specific tax jurisdictions or complex tax regulations.
• Experience with advanced data tools such as Microsoft Access or Adobe Acrobat/Nitro.
