Team Leader - Foam Fabrication

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and motivate a high-performing workshop team to meet tight event deadlines
• Interpret technical drawings, 3D models, or artistic sketches to guide fabrication
• Carve, shape, and sculpt foam (EPS, PU) using 3D robots, hot wire cutters, and hand tools
• Assemble large-scale structures ensuring structural integrity for transport and installation
• Apply fine details and surface coatings like polyurea or epoxy resins for durability
• Coordinate workshop workflow to optimize production and reduce waste
• Maintain specialized workshop machinery and adhere to strict safety protocols
• Manage raw materials inventory and coordinate with purchasing

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in foam sculpting, prop-making, or scenic art
• Proven leadership experience managing a workshop team
• Expert skill with hand-carving tools, 3D robots, and hot wires
• Exceptional spatial awareness and ability to visualize 3D forms from 2D drawings
• Strong understanding of form, texture, and proportion
• Ability to work in a workshop environment involving noise, dust, and heat
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and handle large materials
