About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a mechanical maintenance team responsible for the construction, maintenance, and repair of utility systems, buildings, and infrastructure.
- Manage recruitment, training, work assignments, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions for non-exempt team members.
- Coordinate deliverables, project plans, budgets, schedules, and staffing to meet customer requirements.
- Provide technical guidance on HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, air compressors, pumps, and air handling units.
- Act as a first responder during system outages and after-hours emergencies to restore operations.
- Prioritize and allocate resources for predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, safety manuals, and health and safety standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline plus five years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of five years of experience in a supervisor, team leader, or foreman role.
- Experience working with represented personnel and collective bargaining agreements.
- Experience using a Work Planning and Control system such as Maximo.
- Professional experience within the HVAC industry.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance (requires U.S. citizenship).
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical expertise in refrigeration, heating, ventilation, and water treatment.
- Experience with clean room HVAC systems.
- Knowledge of Sandia Emergency Operations Center protocols.
- Possession of a journeyman license or advanced technical degrees.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and asset management software.
