About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement production activities to meet goals regarding quality, cost, and production targets
- Prioritize production schedules based on equipment efficiency, material supply, and product introduction
- Supervise hourly employees directly, assigning tasks and conducting frequent work inspections
- Identify and support process improvement and cost reduction efforts within the fabrication area
- Provide technical input and solutions to improve plant productivity and efficiencies
- Assess employee skills, write performance reviews, and recommend or provide necessary training
- Interact with subordinate supervisors, management, and functional peer groups to gain cooperation and present technical information
Requirements
- Strong, data-driven problem-solving skills with the ability to collect data and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret a wide variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form
- Proficiency in reading, analyzing, and interpreting general business documents
- Strong ability to write reports and business correspondence
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills
- Ability to effectively present information to groups
Preferred Qualifications
- 0-3 years of prior supervisory experience
- Certification in Yellow Belt or Green Belt
- Experience leading or contributing to DMAIC or LEAN processes, including Kaizen, 5S, and waste elimination
