About the role

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day automation engineering activities in Mexico to ensure effective execution and alignment with business priorities.
  • Lead technical activities across project execution, problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support team capability by providing technical guidance, coaching, and knowledge sharing to direct reports.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including project, service, sales, and customer-facing teams.
  • Ensure all automation solutions align with Tetra Pak standards for safety, quality, and operational excellence.
  • Drive simplification, standardization, and productivity improvements across all automation engineering workflows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of experience in Automation Engineering.
  • 3 years of experience leading a team of at least 8 direct reports within a global company.
  • Strong technical knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and industrial automation solutions.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and 15% internationally.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Portuguese and/or French.
  • Experience with virtualization, cybersecurity, databases, and ISA-S88/S95 standards.
  • Knowledge of engineering tools such as MS Project, AutoCAD, or EPLAN.
  • Understanding of instrumentation, electrical diagrams, and industrial networks.
