About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide senior operational and administrative support to the Inclusion and Belonging portfolio, overseeing approximately 130 student clubs and societies.
  • Coordinate student group events and major student-facing activities, including registration, rosters, training, and venue bookings.
  • Monitor student group activities to ensure compliance with University policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage risk across a diverse portfolio of student activities, applying governance requirements in a pragmatic and proportionate manner.
  • Lead governance processes including reporting, risk identification, record keeping, and issue resolution.
  • Provide advice, mentoring, and capability development for student group executives and leaders to support effective governance and alignment with University values.
  • Undertake reviews and evaluations of student clubs to support continuous improvement and alignment with governance frameworks.

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent experience in business, education, finance, law, or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of the Australian higher education system and tertiary student engagement.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating complex student engagement projects, events, and programs.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, or supervise staff or student leaders.
  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills to inform decision-making and program evaluation.
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex policy into practical guidance.
  • Ability to balance compliance and risk management with positive student engagement outcomes.
