Team Lead

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager with operational, sales, and merchandising objectives
• Provide outstanding customer service by engaging with customers and their pets
• Promote a safe and productive work environment for team members, customers, and vendors
• Execute merchandising activities, including seasonal displays and price changes
• Perform opening and closing procedures and manage bank deposits
• Oversee the safety and well-being of live animals, including sanitizing holding tanks
• Supervise cash handling procedures and operate the point-of-sale system
• Train team members on company policies, procedures, and job functions

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Possess a valid driver’s license
• Ability to lift and move merchandise or live animals weighing up to 50+ pounds
• Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and climb ladders for extended periods
• Ability to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and overtime

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous retail experience
• Knowledge of pets, live animals, or pet products
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience
• Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills
• Basic computer proficiency
