About the role
Responsibilities
- Supervise the day-to-day operations and workflow of the Disability Consultant Team
- Manage a complex caseload of undergraduate and graduate students, focusing on mental health and co-morbid conditions
- Provide leadership in case management and offer guidance on complex academic accommodations
- Train new Disability Consultants and contribute to the refinement of departmental practices and procedures
- Develop and implement individualized accommodation plans based on student learning profiles and medical documentation
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and student welfare units to balance academic integrity with accessible support
- Facilitate psychoeducational workshops and social skill-building programs
- Respond to escalated complaints and provide counseling regarding health issues related to learning disabilities
Requirements
- Master's degree in Social Work, Counselling, Education, or a related disability-related field
- Minimum 5 years of related case management experience, specifically working with adults with complex mental health needs
- Minimum 3 years of experience developing and monitoring accommodations for mental health disabilities
- Minimum 2 years of experience in team leadership and supervision, including workflow planning and staff training
- Strong knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and data management systems
- Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally and deliver presentations to diverse audiences
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with clinical supervision
- Supervisory experience within a unionized environment
