Team Lead, Disability Consultant

Responsibilities

• Supervise the day-to-day operations and workflow of the Disability Consultant Team
• Manage a complex caseload of undergraduate and graduate students, focusing on mental health and co-morbid conditions
• Provide leadership in case management and offer guidance on complex academic accommodations
• Train new Disability Consultants and contribute to the refinement of departmental practices and procedures
• Develop and implement individualized accommodation plans based on student learning profiles and medical documentation
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and student welfare units to balance academic integrity with accessible support
• Facilitate psychoeducational workshops and social skill-building programs
• Respond to escalated complaints and provide counseling regarding health issues related to learning disabilities

Requirements

• Master's degree in Social Work, Counselling, Education, or a related disability-related field
• Minimum 5 years of related case management experience, specifically working with adults with complex mental health needs
• Minimum 3 years of experience developing and monitoring accommodations for mental health disabilities
• Minimum 2 years of experience in team leadership and supervision, including workflow planning and staff training
• Strong knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and data management systems
• Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally and deliver presentations to diverse audiences

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with clinical supervision
• Supervisory experience within a unionized environment
