Team Lead, Data Engineering

The Data Ecosystem team is an important part of DRW’s Unified Platform organization, building the platform capabilities, managed infrastructure, and metadata management systems that underpin the firm's common query layer.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
• Use leadership skills in mentoring, coaching, feedback, and conflict management
• Coordinate with stakeholders to grow the userbase and deliver high-impact functionality
• Engage in hands-on software development and support activities
• Drive project ownership, including defining requirements, scheduling, and resource allocation
• Consult with other development teams to understand platform engagement
• Contribute to process discussions to maximize team throughput

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience leading engineers in a technical environment
• 5+ years of experience working with modern data technologies or building data-first products
• Familiarity with data modeling practices, storage systems, and compute frameworks
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder negotiation

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building, scaling, and supporting large data platforms
• Experience managing technical roadmaps for diverse user bases
• Familiarity with the needs of data platform users within financial firms
• Proven ability to own projects and lead development and support initiatives
• Excellent problem-solving skills and capacity to deliver high-quality engineering artifacts
• Track record of fostering collaboration across global locations
