Team Lead - CNC Machining

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe work environment by strictly adhering to all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies.
• Drive Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) improvements by achieving daily availability, performance, and quality goals.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor repairs to ensure machinery is functioning correctly.
• Evaluate production priorities, set up machines, and execute production plans to achieve targets.
• Perform timely changeovers, optimize workflows, and conduct preventive maintenance.
• Manage non-conforming material (NCM) by containing, segregating, and performing scrap transactions.
• Assign and utilize staff effectively based on their training, skills, and experience.
• Train operators to help meet quality and production standards and improve machining center performance.
• Record and track safety, performance, and quality data to ensure documentation is accurate.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 3-5 years of experience in CNC machinery (lathes, mills, grinders, etc.).
• At least 1 year of experience in a leadership role.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T.
• Skilled in using precision measurement tools and interpreting inspection results.
• Demonstrated mechanical maintenance proficiency (Industrial Maintenance Levels 1 & 2).
• Basic computer skills for data entry and machine interface navigation.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs unassisted and utilize team lifts for up to 75lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with TS16949, ISO14001, and ISO9001 quality systems.
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and practices.
• Familiarity with CNC programming basics and the ability to make minor program edits.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, high-precision environment.
