Team Lead, Cloud Engineering

Responsibilities

• Act as a technical leader for cloud database platforms and services across Azure and GCP.
• Design, develop, and maintain highly available, scalable, and secure database solutions.
• Own the architecture and implementation of infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Build and enhance platform capabilities using Java and NodeJS for automation, APIs, and service integration.
• Lead design discussions and provide technical direction for database onboarding and migrations.
• Partner with application teams to ensure successful adoption of database platforms.
• Drive best practices in cloud engineering, DevOps, and CI/CD.
• Provide mentorship, peer review, and code review to engineering team members.

Requirements

• 8–12+ years of hands-on technical experience in cloud or platform engineering roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with Azure and GCP production workloads.
• Deep experience with relational databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, and Oracle.
• Strong experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Hands-on development experience with Java and NodeJS.
• Solid understanding of cloud networking, security, IAM, and monitoring.
• Strong Linux/Unix administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Kubernetes and container-based platforms.
• Exposure to database migrations from on-premise to cloud environments.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
• Familiarity with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace, or Cloud Monitoring.
• Experience working in large-scale enterprise or highly regulated environments.
