Team Lead - Cargo Operations & Load Planning

Responsibilities

• Supervise the planning and coordination of daily cargo operations, including general, courier, special, and interline shipments.
• Manage team rosters to ensure adequate staffing levels and compliance with duty time requirements.
• Ensure accurate load plans are prepared and released to Ground Handling Agents (GHAs) in compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Optimize aircraft belly space utilization while prioritizing weight and balance limitations.
• Monitor load planner performance through coaching, feedback, and on-the-job training.
• Oversee intra-country trucking coordination and interline cargo connections for seamless movement.
• Ensure accuracy of critical system changes, including cargo reservations, weight amendments, and AWB corrections.
• Monitor EDI messaging accuracy (FFM, FWB, FHL) and initiate corrective actions for discrepancies.
• Identify operational backlogs or delayed flights and coordinate effective recovery plans.
• Collaborate with Station Operations, Flight Operations, Revenue Management, and Cargo Sales.
• Provide direction and guidance to team members to support their professional development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• 4-6 years of experience in air cargo operations.
• At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or team leading role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and cargo system applications.
• Fluent in English.
• Ability to work in a 24x7 operational environment with shift schedules.
• Strong understanding of load planning principles and airline operational procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in Air Cargo Operations, Load Planning, or Dangerous Goods regulations.
• Additional language skills.
